Adam Lindsay’s rise from frontline employee to Chief Executive Officer and Owner reads like a study in what patience and principle can build. When he joined Alpha Transport in 1995, the company operated just five trucks with five drivers. What began as a career opportunity became a lifelong mission, and as Chief Executive Officer he has transformed that small operation into a premier multi-state petroleum transportation enterprise.
The company’s roots run deep, tracing to 1953 when it was founded as Johnson Oil Company in LaBarge, Wyoming, before rebranding decades later. Lindsay honored that heritage while reshaping the company’s scale, growing it to a fleet of 84 trucks and roughly 120 professional drivers serving customers across 13 Western states.
Under his direction, Alpha Transport has expanded revenue substantially while improving profitability, sustaining strong average annual growth over the past three years and overseeing significant yearly investment in fleet modernization and infrastructure. He has staffed and retained more than 150 employees, building the durable foundation required for continued expansion.
What distinguishes Lindsay is not simply growth but how that growth was achieved. He leads through the company’s ALPHA framework, a set of values built on accountability, leadership, people, honesty and adaptability. Safety is not merely a priority in his view but the foundation on which everything else rests, and he has professionalized operations without compromising the culture that made the company successful.
His influence reaches across the broader transportation sector. Lindsay serves as First Vice President of the Utah Trucking Association and is set to assume its presidency, a reflection of the trust and respect he has earned among peers, and in that capacity he advocates for policy, safety standards and workforce development. His selection as a Titan 100 Honoree recognizes leadership that extends well beyond his own fleet.
He holds an MBA from the University of Utah, and his leadership has earned the employer support of the guard and reserve award for backing military service members, a certificate of recognition from the Lieutenant Governor of Utah for volunteerism and a place on Mountain West Capital Network’s list of Utah’s fastest-growing companies.
Community impact matters to Lindsay as much as commercial success. As Program Director for the Utah Rush Wheelchair Junior Basketball team and Head Coach of the Utah Wheelin’ Jazz, he invests his time mentoring young athletes and advancing adaptive sports, extending his leadership philosophy well beyond the workplace.
Of all his accomplishments, he is proudest of building a culture where people succeed. Financial growth and operational expansion are significant, but developing leaders gives him the greatest satisfaction, an outlook captured in his aim to help others become the best version of themselves by inspiring them to dream more, grow more and keep going.
The next five years bring a disciplined, deliberate aim: to double the size of the business while preserving the safety-first culture and core values that have defined it, proving that principled growth and lasting heritage can advance together.
